Liverpool are going through a crisis this season. After a new defeat this Sunday (7), this time to Fulham, the team occupies the 8th position and can see itself even further from the classification zone for the next UEFA Champions League. And, after the match, Jürgen Klopp admitted that the team is out of the fight for a place in the European competition at this moment and that the team’s focus should be different until the bad phase passes.
“You can imagine that this is not my concern right now. You have to ask, I understand that, but I can’t think about it (vacancy in the Champions League). We have to win games”, he said. “If we win a game, it will help. And then, we can see the rest. (Today) we were not good enough. We conceded the goal, we didn’t score, we lost the game. It wasn’t good enough”, he added.
Liverpool have already reached six straight games with defeats inside Anfield, their home. It is the first time in the history of the club that they have reached this negative mark. Now, Klopp’s men are turning their attention to the round of 16 of the Champions League, against RB Leipzig, next Wednesday (10).
