It’s early April, so if you haven’t already bought your Easter eggs, you might want to consider getting a move on.
But for football fans, it’s merely another day in the life of the famous (well, infamous) rumour mill.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp isn’t expecting to make a glut of big-money transfers in the summer, happy as he is with the make-up of most of his squad.
The tittle-tattle train laughs in the face of such facts, though. And where has it stopped today?
Who? Yes, you heard that right. The Liverpool manager is a wanted man.
Where? AC Milan are keen on the Reds boss according to Corriere dello Sport as they contemplate potential successors for Gennaro Gattuso, who is having a bit of a rough time at the San Siro this season. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is also on the wanted list.
What? Klopp’s apparently the secondary option as Milan admit it might be difficult to prise him away from Anfield. Oh really…
Who? Come on.
Where? L’Equipe, via Get French Football News, are stating Fekir has rejected a preliminary contract extension with his current deal expiring in 2020.
Things are a bit complicated, though. Fekir will cut ties with agent Jean-Pierre Bernes later this month, but Bernes is pondering a legal move that means he has to conclude contract negotiations for Fekir because, well, he started them.
And Bernes also had this to say: “It is not about staying here. And we will know maybe the real circumstances that prevented Fekir’s move to Liverpool. The knee was a part of it, but not only that. He had passed a medical, done photos with the Reds shirt…”
What? Who knows. But if Fekir doesn’t agree a new deal in the summer, he’ll be available for a lot less than he was last year.
