Liverpool’s main signing for the season, Thiago Alcântara made his Premier League debut this Sunday, in a 2-0 victory over Chelsea. It was 45 minutes on the field, with a penalty committed – defended by Alisson – and 75 right passes.

Since the complete statistics for passes are available in the English Premier League in the 2003/04 season, never has a player hit so many passes in just 45 minutes. In Liverpool, by the way, even in half time, Thiago was the fourth player who gave more passes, behind only Fabinho (86), who played as a defender; Van Dijk (82), and Robertson (79).

The utilization rate of the midfielder was also high, 90.4%, hitting 75 out of 83 attempted passes. Among those who tried more than 50 touches at Liverpool, it was the third-best mark, just behind the defending duo Fabinho and Van Dijk.
